About me
After completing a Master’s degree in Mathematical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and a double degree at École Centrale de Lyon, reflecting a strong interest in cultural exchange and international environments, I undertook research stays in Spain and Chile. These experiences shaped both my scientific trajectory and my desire to work in diverse and international research settings.
Driven by a long-standing interest in the ocean and marine ecosystems, I progressively oriented my career toward environmental and marine sciences. This led me to spend five years on Réunion Island, where I first held a civil service position and subsequently completed a PhD in computer science applied to marine biology conducted between Ifremer (Réunion Island), Inria (Pl@ntNet team) and the University of Montpellier.
Outside research, I am deeply attached to sport and outdoor life. I played water polo for 17 years, and I also practice climbing, especially bouldering and outdoor single-pitch and multi-pitch routes. During my years on Réunion Island, I trained for three years in canyoning with the Canyon974zioboia Team, in what felt like a paradise for the waterfalls.
I also enjoy freediving, both in pool training and competitions, although what I prefer most is depth freediving in the sea. More recently, I developed a taste for long-distance cycling trips in full autonomy, including journeys across Portugal, Spain, and Morocco.
Music is another important part of my life. I played trumpet in a the Fanfare Piston brass band and I also play guitar. And whenever time allows, I love reading books.
If you would like to contact me about my research, collaborations, or to exchange about any of these interests, feel free to get in touch by email.
